L-G reviews work on decongestion of 77 corridors

Reviewing the progress of work on the decongestion of 77 corridors, Lieutenant-Governor (L-G) VK Saxena on Monday directed the Public Works Department (PWD) to remove encroachments from public land, particularly areas along arterial roads so as to ensure smooth flow of traffic.

During the meeting, officials informed the L-G that out of the 620 tasks on these 77 corridors, 334 tasks have been completed while 109 including 44 long-term tasks and 25 short-term ones were pending.

According to officials, 119 projects were reported unfeasible and the L-G asked them to explore alternative measures.
