L-G launches ‘one road, one week’ initiative for footpath maintenance

Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena on Sunday launched the “One Road-One Week” initiative of New Delhi Municipal Council under which repair and maintenance works of footpaths, pavements and central verges will be done at Tilak Marg and Bhagwan Das Road, in the national capital. The LG also directs officials to complete revamp works of 15 roads in the NDMC areas on priority.

According to the statement released by the Raj Niwas, personally overseeing and supervising various works like laying of interlocking blocks, pruning of tress, painting of grills and road markings etc, the LG directed that revamp works of Tilak Marg and other roads in New Delhi area should be comprehensively undertaken, rather than in a piece meal manner.
