Kushinagar airport will boost Buddhist circuit tourism

Kushinagar airport inaugurated

The Kushinagar International Airport was inaugurated this week by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It will facilitate domestic and international pilgrims to visit the “Mahaparinirvana” site of Lord Buddha.

UP’s 3rd international airport

It has been built at an estimated cost of Rs 260 crore and spread over nearly 3600 sq m.The runway is 3.2kms long and 45 m wide. This is the third international airport in Uttar Pradesh.

Connectivity to the east

The airport has been equipped to handle 300 passengers during peak hours. It will provide direct air connectivity to countries such as Sri Lanka, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, China, Thailand, Vietnam, and Singapore.
