KSRTC AC e-buses on 5 more routes from Bengaluru
BENGALURU: After reporting that its two-month pilot trial run with one AC electric bus between Bengaluru and Mysuru was successful, Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has deployed 25 buses on six routes for short-distance intra-state travel from Bengaluru.
Starting Monday, KSRTC has become the first state-owned entity in India to deploy a fleet of e-buses for intra-state travel, according to managing director Anbu Kumar. These buses can travel 320km on a single charge.
Passengers can now travel in an eco-friendly manner between Bengaluru and Mysuru, Virajpet, Davanagere, Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru, and Madikere, while enjoying the comfort of air-conditioning with push-back seats.
