Kolkata: CISF conducts raids on illegal coal mining sites in Mugma
KOLKATA: The CISF sector headquarters in Kolkata has launched a large-scale raid at coal mining sites under Eastern Coalfields Ltd at Mugma, Jharkhand. Sources said the raids halted the movement of any vehicles potentially carrying illegally mined coal.
According to sources, the action followed reports of rampant unauthorised extraction and transportation of coal in the region, causing significant losses to government revenue and posing serious environmental and safety risks.
