18 to 16: coaches cut on superfast trains from Jan 14
Chennai: The number of coaches on two important superfast express trains connecting Chennai with Mumbai and Salem has been reduced to 16 from 18 effective Jan 14, just when there will be a huge demand from passengers travelling to their hometowns for the Pongal holidays.
Central Railway announced that the Mumbai CSMT-Chennai Egmore Superfast Mail (No 22157/22158) will operate with 16 LHB coaches, replacing 18 ICF coaches from Jan 14.
