Kolkata-bound IndiGo ATR returns to Ranchi after burning smell in cabin; passengers open emergency exits at terminal

NEW DELHI: An IndiGo ATR taxiing to take off from Ranchi for Kolkata returned to the terminal at the origin after a burning smell in the cabin and cockpit.
The turboprop also experienced a sudden rise in cabin temperature. When it reached the terminal and the door was opened for disembarkation, some passengers opened the ATR’s two emergency exits.
