Kishida-Modi summit to push bullet train project
Japanese PM Fumio Kishida’s proposed short trip to India on March 19-20 will give a much-anticipated push to the Mumbai-Ahmedabad high speed “Shinkansen” bullet train project which has been delayed due to land acquisition issues.
Kishida and PM Narendra Modi will review the progress on the $17 billion Mumbai-Ahmedabad high speed “Shinkansen” bullet train project, which was inaugurated in 2017 by the then Japanese PM Shinzo Abe and the PM, ET has learned. Kishida who plans to arrive here on March 19 will seek to push partnership across sectors.
