Kempapura skywalk lift gets NHAI nod

BENGALURU: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has given an in-principle nod for the construction of an elevator at the pedestrian elevated walkway near Esteem Mall, Kempapura Junction, Ballari Road.
According to c, the decision to install lifts on the skywalk was taken following a huge demand from senior citizens and patients, who are otherwise forced to climb the stairs.
“We chose this particular skywalk for building an elevator to encourage more people to use the facility. Due to the pedestrian guardrail here, many have to take a long detour to cross the road and there is heavy pedestrian movement at this location,” a senior NHAI official said.
