Karnataka Industries minister mum on talks with Tesla
Karnataka’s Industries Minister MB Patil on Friday said he cannot publicly discuss the investment proposals the State is pursuing with large multinationals such as Foxconn or Tesla.
The Minister’s post on X came in response to a comment by Aarin Capital chairman TV Mohandas Pai who said Telangana government was in talks with Tesla to set up an electric car plant. “Is GoK wooing Tesla and Elon Musk to come to Karnataka? Best place in India!” the former Infosys director and CFO said, seeking to nudge the Congress regime to pursue the electric vehicle maker. His comment followed remarks by Telangana industries minister Duddila Sridhar Babu that his government had been tracking Tesla’s planned investment initiatives in India and making efforts to bring the electric vehicle maker to Telangana.
