Karnataka: AAP demands rollback of power tariff hike

BENGALURU: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) workers on Thursday staged a ‘Shock Beda’ protest in front of Cauvery Bhavan demanding the state government withdraw the power tariff hike. They also wanted the state to adopt the Delhi government’s model for electricity charges.
They pointed out that many have lost their jobs post the Covid-19 outbreak and the governments across the globe are supporting citizens, but Karnataka, ironically, is increasing tariffs of essential services.
