Kanpur dam project delay due to R&R failure: Cong

Delay in Kanpur project is due to the failure of the Government machinery to implement the RR policy properly, said PCC chief Niranjan Patnaik after discussing with the Sub- Collector , Champua at latter’ s office during his second visit to the Kanpur dam at Basudevpur near Joda block. Patnaik earlier had visited seven rehabilitation colonies and discussed with the affected people to know about the ground zero reality of the rehabilitation colonies set up by the Government.

During his visit, the affected villagers after welcoming Patnaik in their traditional way, brought to his notice how they were leading a very miserable life due to lack of basic amenities like drinking water, school, cremation ground, Devi ghara (sacred house of village deity) of adivasi people and electricity etc.
