JSW Energy to buy GMR Energy’s Kamalanga power plant for Rs 5,321 cr
JSW EnergyNSE 4.12 % has entered an agreement to buy GMR Energy’s 1,050 mw-Kamalanga power project located in Odisha for a consideration of Rs 5,321 crore, the Sajjan Jindal-led company said on Monday.
JSW and GMR have been in exclusive discussion for the deal since October. This transaction will increase JSW Energy’s power generation capacity to 5,609 mw, and help the loss making GMR Infrastructure, the parent company of GMR Energy, pare its debt.
