Jet Airways CoC seeks fresh bids for airline

New Delhi: Lenders to Jet Airways (India) Ltd have decided to seek fresh bids for the grounded airline, the resolution professional for the bankrupt company said in a regulatory filing on Monday.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the committee of creditors (CoC) on 17 December. “….the CoC passed the resolution to issue fresh invitation of expression of interest for the corporate debtor in the e-voting concluded on December 22, 2019,” resolution professional Ashish Chhawchharia said in the filing.

Last week, the Mumbai bench of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) approved extension of Jet Airways’ Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (CIRP) by 90 days after the lenders failed to find a new buyer for the airline during the mandated 180-day period.
