IOC aims to complete 54k crore projects over the next 5 yrs in TN

Chennai: Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), which is executing multiple projects with an investment of Rs 54,000 crore in Tamil Nadu, will complete them over the next five years.

One of the largest investments by the public sector oil company in a state, the major projects include the 9MMTPA grass-roots refinery at an estimated cost Rs 35,580 crore at Nagapattinam. The new refinery will produce petrol and diesel of BS-VI specifications, besides polypropylene.

India’s top oil firm with a market share of 36.8% and 45% in petrol and diesel business, respectively, in Tamil Nadu is also looking at producing green hydrogen in the state. It is holding discussions with the state government for land and electricity to set up a hydrogen station.
