Inflight protest against Pinarayi Vijayan: E P Jayarajan criticises IndiGo for slapping travel ban
After IndiGo banned him from boarding its planes for three weeks, senior CPI(M) leader and Kerala’s ruling Left Democratic Front convener E P Jayarajan on Monday said “it (IndiGo) is a dirty and sub-standard airline. I would go walking rather than travelling by their aircraft”.
The IndiGo action against Jayarajan came over a month after his alleged unruly behaviour on a flight. On June 13, Jayarajan and Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan travelled by a IndiGo flight from Kannur to Thiruvananthapuram, when Youth Congress (YC) workers staged an in-flight protest against the CM over the fresh allegations against him in connection with a gold smuggling case.
At Thiruvananthapuram, Jayarajan was seen pushing the protesting YC workers, who were later arrested by police. Besides Jayarajan, IndiGo also banned YC workers Farzeen Majeed and Naveen Kumar from flying for two weeks.
