IndiGo waives change fee on bookings done till April 30
MUMBAI: In a move to encourage flight bookings, IndiGo on Friday announced that it will waive off change fees on new air ticket purchases made from April 17 till April 30.
Under the offer, passengers have been allowed to make unlimited changes on regular fare new bookings made till April 30. But if a passenger cancels the ticket, the cancellation fee will apply, the airline said. The offer is valid on bookings made through travel agents, online travel portals as well.
Said a travel agent requesting anonymity: “What we saw last year when Covid cases were on the rise was that people didn’t go for advance purchases. Majority booked tickets 2-3 days in advance and that trend appears to have returned. Quite a few surveys on passenger sentiment towards air travel during the pandemic have indicated that one of the ways to encourage travel is to waive off fees that come with changing or cancelling an air ticket.
