IndiGo Q1 results: Airline reports larger-than-expected net loss of Rs 3,174 crore
MUMBAI: InterGlobe Aviation NSE -2.78 %, operator of IndiGo Airlines, today reported a net loss of Rs 3,174.2 crore for the quarter ended June as against a net loss of Rs 2,844.3 crore in the year-ago quarter. Analysts had expected the company to report a net loss of Rs 2,301.7 crore for the quarter.
The company’s revenue from operations, however, surged 292 per cent year-on-year to Rs 3,006.9 crore for the reported quarter. The surge in revenues was largely a result of more operational days for flight operators in the country during the quarter as against the year-ago period that was hit by national lockdown.
