IndiGo chaos brings travel to its knees; metro city passengers now need to shell out up to ₹35,000 to fly or try another day

Travelling this week has become less about reaching a destination and more about surviving the scramble to get there. As IndiGo’s mass cancellations ripple through the system, airports are packed, tempers are high and ticketing apps have turned into battlegrounds, where every delayed flight is pushing airfares further out of reach.

Passengers in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and other metros are experiencing last-minute and weekend fares surged overnight with domestic airfares on busy metro routes surging to 2-5 times their usual levels.
