IndiGo cancels 19 flights from Delhi amid escalating protest against CAA
New Delhi: India’s largest airline IndiGo on Thursday cancelled around 19 flights departing from Delhi, while full-service carrier Vistara said its flights were delayed amid escalating protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act.
InterGlobe Aviation-operated IndiGo has cancelled “around 20 flights” departing from the airport today, which is about 10% of their total departures from the national capital, the company said in a statement.
A Delhi International Airport Ltd spokesperson said 19 IndiGo flights were cancelled because the airline’s crew was stuck at the airport. Around 16 flights were also delayed due to traffic jam on the Delhi-Gurugram border which held up the crew, the spokesperson said.
