Indian Railways overcomes Himalayan challenges! Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link sees successful Tunnel T1 breakthrough

In a major triumph for the Indian Railways, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced a significant breakthrough in the Udhampur – Baramulla section’s complex tunneling project, the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL). The achievement comes after overcoming formidable challenges posed by the lesser Himalayas, highly fractured dolomite, a major shear zone (MBT), and high ingress of water.
