Indian Railways new time table 2022: Faster trains to improved punctuality; 5 things to know

Indian Railways has introduced its new railway time-table, “Trains At a Glance” which is effective from October 1, 2022. The arrival and departure timings of several trains have been changed, and railway passengers are advised to check the new schedule before planning a trip, especially with regards to suburban services. With the new time table, railways is looking to improve its punctuality record.

In a report tabled earlier this year, the CAG pointed out that despite significant capital investments, the overall punctuality of trains has declined from 79% in 2012-13 to 69.23% in 2018-19. Several improvements in the railway time tabling exercise have been recommended by the CAG.
