Indian Railways looks to overhaul parcel business
New Delhi: Indian Railways is working on an overhaul of its parcel business by integrating it with Indian Postal network, thereby enabling booking and collection of rail parcels through any post office in the country.
“The Railways is preparing to let consumers book a parcel through any of the 150,000 post offices in the country,” said a senior railways ministry official who did not wish to be identified. “Currently, railway parcels can only be booked at railway stations.”
