Indian Oil, Oil India & Bharat Petroleum to buy 29.9% stake in Russian field for $1.3 bn

Russian oil firm Rosneft said on Wednesday it had signed a series of documents on selling stakes in Russian oil fields to Indian firms during a visit by its CEO Igor Sechin to India.

Rosneft said in a statement it had signed an agreement that Oil India, Indian Oil and Bharat Petroleum could buy up to 23.9 per cent in the Vankor group of oil fields.

It also signed an agreement that Indian firm ONGC Videsh Limited could increase its stake in Vankor to 26 percent.

Oil India, Indian Oil and Bharat Petroleum also signed a deal to buy 29.9 per cent in the Taas-Yuriakh field, Rosneft said.
