India to operate 3,200 flights weekly during summer

As many as 3,200 flights will be operated from India per week during this year’s summer schedule which commenced from Sunday. According to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), 60 foreign airlines of 40 countries except China have been given the approval to operate 1783 departures per week to/from India while 1466 flights per week have been approved to 43 destinations in 27 countries for Indian carriers.

The ban on international scheduled flights was lifted on Saturday after more than two years. With the reopening of scheduled international flights, passengers will find airfares to certain flights drop and more options available to route their journeys.
