India Power Corporation Ltd plans to expand operations
India Power Corporation Ltd NSE 2.75 % is planning to expand its power distribution operations to new locations, subject to necessary clearances and approvals.
The company currently holds a distribution license for supplying power over 618 square kilometers in West Bengal’s Asansol-Ranigunj region. It is one of the few Indian utilities that operate in a competitive environment with two other suppliers vying for the same set of customers.
India Power boasts of a low 3% aggregate technical and commercial loss in its distribution area, one of the lowest nationally. It claimed that its electricity rates are 20% lower than its competitors in most tariff categories in the region it currently operates.
