Illegal electric wire seized; 3 held in JSpur

Biridi police have arrested three youths including driver of a pick-up van and seized the van and a huge quantity of electric wire on Tuesday.

The youths were identified as Depak Behera and Kalandi Majhi and driver Dipu Das all hailing from Jagatsinghpur locality. Reports said that Biridi police had been intercepting vehicles at Kaijanga on Cuttack- Machhagaion NH 55 on Tuesday night, when the pick-up van was passing on the road. During vehicle checking, the theft of the wire came to the fore.

During investigation it was known that the electric wire had been stolen from Balikuda area and allegedly was being sent to Cuttack for sale.
