IGGL, GAIL sign interconnection agreement
Indradhanush Gas Grid Limited (IGGL) and GAIL India Ltd signed an Interconnection Agreement to connect the North East Gas Grid of IGGL with the Barauni Guwahati Pipeline (BGPL) of GAIL.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Ajit Kr Thakur CEO IGGL said ‘The interconnection agreement will facilitate connection of the North East Gas Grid with the BGPL at three locations, viz Jalpaiguri in West Bengal, Baihata and Panikhaiti in Assam. The interconnection agreement will pave the way for making the North East Gas Grid a part of the National Gas Grid.” The pipeline for interconnection will be laid by GAIL and the cost of laying approximately Rs 15.16 Crore will be reimbursed by IGGL to GAIL”.
