Huge demand for Singareni coal; AP, Karnataka and Maharashtra seek coal from SCCL

HYDERABAD: With the shortage of coal in the states like Karnataka, Maharashtra and AP for thermal power stations, there is a sudden demand for Singareni coal.

The coal reserves for the 15 thermal stations in those states last for just only two to three days, Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) has decided to produce more coal by fixing targets in all the areas of SCCL.

However, Telangana Genco officials claimed that they have sufficient coal reserves for the next one week to 10 days. The Telangana generates 3,700 MW of thermal power to meets its requirement.
