How 4km of Noida will get ‘global touch-up’

A model road, touted as the country’s first that will be developed on the lines of boulevards in global megacities, will come up in Noida over the next two years.

The 4km-long stretch between Captain Shashi Chowk and Sector 51/71 intersection will be pedestrian-friendly and have features to encourage people to spend time out of their homes, officials said.

To be developed at a cost of Rs 12 crore, the budget for the road was approved earlier this week. Chief executive officer of Noida Authority, Ritu Maheshwari, said the road would cater to the needs of all kinds of users. “Differently abled, children as well as senior citizens will be able to use the model road in a seamless manner just like others,” she said.
