Hong Kong & Malaysia bar travellers from India

NEW DELHI: Hong Kong has barred the entry of travellers from India and some other countries indefinitely due to the massive Covid surge in these places. Malaysia has also decided to impose temporary travel restrictions to and from India for the same reason.

Hong Kong: While Hong Kong had earlier barred passenger flights from India for 14 days from April 20, it has now put India, Pakistan, Philippines and Nepal in the “extremely high risk” Covid list from May 1.

“All persons who have stayed in these places for more than two hours during the relevant period (the day of boarding for/arrival at Hong Kong or during the 21 days before that day) will not be allowed to board for Hong Kong,” says the website of the government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
