Himachal: HPERC increases electricity tariff by 22 paise per unit for all consumers

The Himachal Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (HPERC) on Friday increased the electricity tariffs for all consumers by 22 paise per unit for the financial year 2023-24. The new tariff will be applicable from April. The overall electricity tariff increase in terms of the percentage is less than 4% only for FY 2023-24.

The tariff for Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited (HPSEBL) has been issued after determining the true-up of uncontrollable parameters for the financial year 2021-22 and aggregate revenue requirement (ARR) of the HPSEBL, said chairman, HPERC, DK Sharma.

The commission has estimated the annual revenue requirement (ARR) of ₹ 6,595 crore of the HPSEBL for FY 2023-24 after Truing up for uncontrollable parameters for the financial year 2021-22.
