Highway ban: HC grants Centre, J&K govt one week to file objections
The High Court on Wednesday granted one more week to the central and state governments to file objections to the pleas challenging the ban on civilian traffic along the Jammu-Srinagar national highway twice a week.
As soon as a batch of Public Interest Litigations (PILs) against the highway ban came up for hearing, state’s senior advocate general B A Dar told the court that the issue involved in these petitions has become a subject matter of a writ petition filed before the Supreme Court by vice- president Jammu and Kashmir Awami National Conference (ANC) Muzaffar Ahmad Shah.
