Heavy rain floods Kolkata airport, disrupts flight operations
Heavy rain disrupted flight operations and caused waterlogging in the operational area of Kolkata airport on Tuesday afternoon.
No flight could land at the airport between 1.12pm and 1.52pm because of the rain, said an airport official.
“During the time, 16 flights which were scheduled to arrive, could not land. At least one flight had to be diverted,” said the official. However, there was no problem with the departure of flights.
“Heavy rain had reduced visibility that caused the delays in landing, which led to holding of flights on the air,” said an official.
