HC: Air India to pay 35,000 to passenger for hair in food

Chennai: Madras high court has imposed 35,000 cost on Air India for ‘negligence and mischievously attempting’ to pass on liability to the caterer it engaged. The court issued the order following a plea by a passenger who found strands of hair in the food served to him while travelling from Colombo to Chennai.

Justice P B Balaji passed the order on an appeal by Air India challenging an order from the III additional city civil court, Chennai, dated June 21, 2022. The order directed Air India to pay 1 lakh as damages to the passenger, P Sundaraparipooranan.
