Haryana government appears to be on a massive drive to buy 303 MW of super expensive hydro power from two private developers – 193 MW from two projects developed by DANS group and one project of 110 MW developed by Gati Infrastructure Pvt Ltd. The power from all these three projects will be bought at an average levelised price of Rs 4.66 per unit. Compared to this, the state on 16.11.2017 has agreed to buy 176 MW of hydro power from Sajjan Jindal owned JSW Energy at Rs 3.02 per unit, this too was purchased without a tender.
