Govt vs Pvt Sector Power Plants

In the last three years, the centre has allocated coal linkages to as many as 32 power projects under the central or state sector plants. On the other hand, private power generating companies get the coal allocation or coal mines at much higher costs through an auction process. But, both private and government sector compete on tariff when they supply power to discoms. In this way, the private sector is at disadvantageous position vis a vis the government sector projects.
