The panchayats of the State, which were having inadequate street lighting, will now glow brightly with energy efficient LED street lighting. The Government has inked a deal with Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL)—an energy service company for installing LED streetlights at 4,367 panchayats across the State. The decision to this affect was taken today at Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Raghubar Das.
State Cabinet Coordination department Principal Secretary SKG Rahate said, “The State Government as part of rural electrification has decided to install street lighting arrangements at rural areas. In this connection, LED street lighting will be installed in 4,367 panchayats.
