Govt providing lowest tariff for charging electric vehicles: Gahlot

Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot said that the Delhi Government is providing the lowest tariff for charging electric vehicles in the country with a provision of sub-metering for commercial buildings to provide ‘Electric Vehicles’ (EVs) charging facilities anywhere in the national capital.

Gahlot said that the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) notified a policy wherein a commercial building like a hotel or malls, providing EV charging facilities can install a sub-meter and the EV tariff rate will apply to these. This will encourage people to provide EV charging facilities on their own premises.”

“The Government has carried out a comprehensive planning to build an effective EV charging infrastructure across the national capital for faster uptake of electric vehicles (EVs). The government left no stone unturned to pave way for the smooth transition of EVs.
