Govt notifies modified scheme on ethanol production
The union food ministry has asked states to promote production of first generation (1G) ethanol from feed stocks such as cereals like rice, wheat, barley, corn, sorghum sugarcane and sugar beet under the modified ethanol generation scheme.
The is likely to help government advance the deadline for blending 20 per cent ethanol in petrol to 2025 from the earlier announced 2030.
