Govt looks to make EVs more attractive
NEW DELHI: The AAP government is planning to come up with better incentives for electric vehicles (EV) in its Delhi Electric Vehicle Policy 2.0 after getting feedback during the stakeholders’ consultation meet.
A senior official said that most participants said EV subsidies should be increased as they were costlier than petrol and diesel vehicles and there should be easier financing options.
The official said the government could come up with better incentives, especially for scrapping buyers’ old vehicle as suggested by many people. “This would serve the twin objective of getting the old vehicles removed from Delhi roads and promoting EVs,” he said.
