Govt asks oil & gas companies to present a detailed plan for Hydrogen by month-end
The government has asked Indian Oil NSE 0.42 % Corporation, BPCL NSE 1.73 %, HPCL NSE -0.24 % and GAIL to present a detailed plan by the end of the month on how they intend to produce, procure and consume green hydrogen, said people familiar with the matter.
The government is putting together a large plan to adopt green hydrogen as part of the energy transition and expects oil and fertiliser companies to lead it. Refineries have been the biggest user of hydrogen, although all of it is currently produced using fossil fuel.
