Government-owned EESL seeks supply chain details amid concerns

LUCKNOW: The central government-owned Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), which is carrying out a smart metering project in UP, has asked all players it has allotted tenders to for its projects across the country to disclose their supply chain details as it wants to assess their dependence on foreign sources.

The energy service company will also look at adjusting its contracts with the existing players and may even switch to players with higher localisation, if it finds that the foreign dependence of any player is beyond a comfortable level, said its managing director Saurabh Kumar.
