GoAir places order for 144 P&W engines to power its A320Neo planes

NEW DELHI : Wadia Group-controlled GoAir on Wednesday said that it has placed a new order for 144 Pratt & Whitney (P&W) engines to power its 72 Airbus A320Neo planes.

The delivery of these engines are expected to begin by 2021, the airline said in a statement.

The airline had earlier in 2011 placed similar order for 144 Pratt & Whitney engines to power its previous batch of 72 Airbus A320 aircraft.

“With today’s announcement, GoAir has placed a cumulative order for 288 fuel efficient Pratt & Whitney GFT engines that will power its fleet of 144 Airbus A320neo aircraft,” GoAir said in the statement.
