GMR Infra to demerge energy, transport from airports biz
New Delhi: GMR Infrastructure, with significant ownership in the New Delhi and Hyderabad airports, Thursday approved a plan to spin-off its energy and urban transport verticals, fulfilling a longstanding investor demand to unlock value from the current holding company structure at the aviation facilities major.
GMR Infrastructure said the board has approved the demerger of the energy and urban transport businesses from the listed company, which will be left solely with the airport business, and the plan is to list the other entity on the bourses.
