Gas migration in KG Basin

The justice AP Shah committee that probed a dispute between Oil and Natural Gas Corp Ltd (ONGC) and Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) has indicted RIL for “unfair enrichment” and ONGC for delay in the development of the blocks. In a report submitted to the government on August 31, 2016, the committee reported that 7.009 billion cubic meter (BCM) gas migrated from Godavari PML block, out of which 5.968 BCM was produced; and 4.116 BCM migrated from D1 block, out of which 3.015 BCM was produced. However, the committee has left it to the government to take a final call on the quantum of gas migrated and recovery.
