Gas cylinder explodes; 3 of family injured

At least 11 rooms were reduced to ashes when a cooking gas cylinder exploded in a house at Bangurisingha village under the Motanga police station in Dhenkanal district on Monday.

Reports said a major fire erupted after the cylinder exploded in the kitchen of the house and soon quickly spread to the adjoining houses.

Though no casualty was reported, three persons of a family including a woman and her son and daughter-in-law sustained critical burn injuries.

The three injured persons were first rushed to a nearby hospital and later shifted to the SCB Medical College Hospital in Cuttack.
