Fresh spate of rains disrupts flight ops at Mumbai

A fresh spate of rains caused some disruptions in flight operations at the Mumbai airport Monday.

A total of 11 flights, all operated by IndiGoNSE -3.06 %, were cancelled, said a spokesperson at India’s second busiest airport by passenger traffic. Three flights were diverted to neighbouring airports.

The runways were shut down for close to 20 mins at 9:12 am due to torrential rains, said an airport spokesperson. They were then reopened but flights continued to be delayed by half an hour on average throughout the day.
