Freight loading of Indian Railways crosses 1400 MT in fiscal 2021-22

The Indian Railways (IR) loaded 1418.10 million tonnes (MT) of freight during financial year 2021-22. This is the highest ever loading of the IR during a fiscal and is the first time that over 1400 MT of freight has been ferried by the national transporter. This is 15 per cent higher than the 1233.24 MT loading during fiscal 2020-21.

The goods loading target for 2022-23 is 1,475 MT.
