Free power to farmers if non-BJP govt gets mandate to rule: KCR
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao said on Monday that if a non-BJP coalition comes to power at the Centre, farmers across the country will be given free electricity.
Speaking at a public meeting at Nizamabad, the CM said the BJP was planning to install electricity meters in agricultural fields; instead “people should put meter on the BJP government, which is adopting anti-farmer policies, and send it home”. Appealing to the people to join him in his fight against the Centre and make “BJP-mukt Bharat”, KCR said: “Without buying crops from farmers…without providing them electricity… the BJP government is conspiring to capture farmland. Farmers will be burdened with hefty power bills.
